League season & team captains

14 Sep โ€“ 14 Dec 2026 โ€” there will be no extensions.

Matches run fast: at ~60 minutes or less each, playing multiple matches in one night is highly recommended.

One team member is designated the "Team Captain," who serves as the primary point of contact for setting up matches. A group chat will be created where captains can post court reservations or availability so others have visibility and can arrange matches โ€” the goal is to keep it easy, on your own time, and low commitment.

There's no need to report scheduled matches in advance โ€” just send scores by email using the template below.

Matches

  • One match is 3 games to 11, win by one.
  • Each team plays every other team once.
  • All 3 games must be played regardless of wins or losses.
  • Season winners are determined by cumulative points โ€” every point counts. Ties are broken by head-to-head; if more than two teams are tied, point differential decides it.
  • One 1-minute timeout is allowed per game.
  • Injury timeouts are permitted to assess whether play can continue.
    • If schedule allows, the match resumes from the same score, or can be rescheduled before the end of regular season.
    • If schedule doesn't allow it, the match is a forfeit with points counted as they stood when play ended.
  • Playing a few recreational games after a completed match is encouraged, if time permits.
  • Play all matches by the season deadline and hit the check points โ€” rankings determine playoff brackets.
  • 100% of matches must be completed to be eligible for playoffs.

Sportsmanship

This league exists for competitive, fun, recreational play. There is zero tolerance for bad sportsmanship or drama. If that's not your vibe, this isn't the league for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Game balls

The official game ball is the Lifetime Pro 48. Any deviation must be agreed upon by both Team Captains before a match begins.

DUPR

This league will not be entered into DUPR โ€” though it may be considered for future flex leagues.

Playoffs

  • 30 Nov โ€“ 14 Dec 2026
  • 100% of matches must be completed to be eligible.
  • All teams are ranked highest to lowest for playoff brackets.
  • Format matches regular season play; total points determine final placement. Ties go to head-to-head.
  • Top 8 teams compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
  • All medals are awarded at the end-of-league party.

Roster

The final roster is posted via Google Sheets:

Check point policy

Check Points keep every team progressing evenly and prevent a backlog of matches late in the season โ€” basically, they help prevent procrastination :)

DeadlineMatches completed
End of Week 44 matches
End of Week 66 matches
End of Week 88 matches

Check points begin at Week 4 and continue every two weeks for the rest of the season (Weeks 4, 6, 8, 10, and onward).

Teams are responsible for scheduling and completing matches before each deadline. Commissioners will notify teams who fall behind, starting at Week 4. A team that hasn't played 8 matches by Week 8 will be eliminated.

Exceptions may be granted for approved vacations or injuries โ€” notify the league commissioners in advance.

Player substitution

No subs are permitted. If a player is injured, a sub may be considered, but that same sub must be used for the rest of the league. Subs must be rated equal to or lower than the player they're replacing, via DUPR.

Short-term injuries happen โ€” allow time to recover and complete your matches before the end of regular season.

Subs must be approved by the Commissioners before playing any matches.

Unique circumstances

The Commissioners reserve the right to make final determinations on anything not covered by these bylaws โ€” but both Commissioners must agree.

Scores & reporting

The challenger โ€” the person who set up the match โ€” reports scores by email to the Commissioners, cc'ing opponents. Points are earned per game score, as in the example below.

No texting scores โ€” email only, no exceptions.

Misc

Anything not covered in these bylaws is left to the discretion of the Commissioners.

We're looking forward to a fun season! ๐Ÿ“
